Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineering Quantity Surveyor to join our team, responsible for managing costs and value on civil engineering elements of our projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with our senior project team, engaging with clients and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Main Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Manage all costs associated with civil engineering elements of our projects, ensuring timely and accurate payment to subcontractors.
- Tendering and Procurement: Work with our senior project team to procure key subcontract packages, analysing tender returns and preparing subcontract documents.
- Contract Administration: Commercially manage key subcontract packages from order through to final account, including monthly payments, variations, and claims management.
- Cost Control: Continuously monitor costs and financial entitlements on packages/projects under your control, ensuring accurate budgeting and forecasting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage actively with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, designers, and internal team members, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
- Relevant Degree: Hold a relevant degree with 10+ years' experience in main contracting and/or specialist contracting environment.
- Civil Engineering Knowledge: Strong technical understanding of civil engineering processes and familiarity with various forms of civil engineering methods of measurement.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build strong business relationships, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Software: Familiarity with Buildsoft, CostX, or similar is advantageous.
