Reaktor is looking for a Business Development Director to join our Defence & Security team in Helsinki or Tampere.

As a Business Development Director, you'll play a key role in expanding our impact, initiating new business, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring smooth execution of business development initiatives.

Your Role:

New Business & Account Management

  • Identify and drive new business opportunities in the Finnish DefSec market, managing the entire sales cycle from first contact to closing deals.

  • Develop and nurture new and existing accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and sustained portfolio growth. Our account lifecycle usually spans from 3-5 to 10+ years.

  • Lead and support proposal development, ensuring compelling and competitive offerings.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Contribute to refining and developing Reaktor's DefSec business strategy.

    • Shape and execute marketing strategies, collaborating with internal teams to enhance brand visibility.

    • Organize and participate in client and industry events to expand Reaktor's network and influence.

To thrive in this position, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in solution sales within the IT consulting or public sector.

  • Extensive experience in new business development, account management and client acquisition, with demonstrated ability to generate and maintain long-term client relationships. We have noticed that people with these skillsets usually have 10+ years of experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to understand client needs and proactively offer tailored solutions to enhance account growth.

  • Experience in developing and executing account growth strategies that align with business objectives and client goals.

  • Experience navigating public sector tendering processes.

  • Strong collaboration skills cross-functionally—able to work seamlessly with business, engineering, and marketing teams.

  • Willingness to travel as needed for business development and client engagement.

  • Fluent Finnish and English (written and spoken).

  • This role requires Finnish citizenship due to client and security regulations. This person will have to pass a security clearance process when hired.

  • This is a hybrid position—on-site presence (2-4 days per week) is required as part of our business operations.

Nice-to-Have skills:

  • Selling multi-expert teams and consulting solutions.

  • Familiarity with Defsec industry networks.

  • Experience in team leadership or mentorship.

  • Knowledge of AI, business design, or other areas within Reaktor's offering.

  • Exposure to the software product domain.
