Segment Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a global strategy for our Motion OEM accounts with focus on our Large Motors and Generators division and including other cross division portfolios. You will maximize the share of OEM customer wallet for the ABB portfolio by leveraging ABB strengths and capturing new opportunities, focusing on growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction as well as sales activities and managing specific customer requests or issues. The work model for the role is hybrid; #LI-Hybrid. The role is contributing to the Motion Business Area globally. Travelling internationally will be around 30%. You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Account Management & Business Development: Defining and measuring business opportunities, developing new business opportunities as well as dedicated account plans, and setting annual targets to maximize share and profitability.
  2. Sales & Support: Providing active support to front-end sales, leading and coordinating an account support team, and developing marketing materials.
  3. Customer Relations: Establishing and maintaining connections with top management in customer organizations, negotiating international agreements, and organizing management meetings.
  4. Reporting & Improvement: Being responsible for quarterly reports, continuously improving customer satisfaction (measured as NPS), and supporting relevant teams in marketing efforts.
Qualifications for the role
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience and 5 years in Key Account Management, Business Development and/or Sales/Industry management in the industrial automation, electrification and/or robotics industry.
  • Experience with motors or drives sales is seen as an advantage.
  • Ability to interact successfully with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven influencing skills in a multi-cultural and multi-layered business environment.
  • Ability to connect with senior stakeholders on all levels, including C-level.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Notable business orientation, hands-on attitude, and personal commitment to set and achieve targets.
  • Fluency in English, oral and written. Further languages are a plus.
