We are now looking for a Communications Manager to join our passionate Corporate Communications team for a parental leave cover of approximately 1.5 years.

Our team helps to drive Kemira's growth and secures the reputation of the company by developing and maintaining strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

In this global role, based out of our headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, you will develop and execute a global media relations strategy, content and messaging, that supports Kemira's strategic objectives, with an emphasis on European and Finnish media. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, and you will build and manage relationships with key European journalists, editors and influencers. You'll proactively pitch stories to top-tier regional and local media outlets, while developing and training your roster of spokespeople.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Global and Finnish media relations development and management including press materials development, pitching stories and handling inquiries as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with key Finnish media outlets, journalists and influencers.
  • Issues and crisis communications together with the Director of Communications and CCO.
  • Ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.
  • Lead the creation of compelling content such as press releases, articles, interviews, speeches and blogs.
  • Track global and Finnish media coverage and measure the impact of external comms efforts and provide strategic recommendations to improve visibility and brand perception based on media analysis.
  • Partner closely with function colleagues and BUs to ensure unified messaging.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Masters degree in PR, journalism, communications, or similar.
  • Native-level Finnish speaker and writer, excellent English language skills.
  • 5-7 years of experience in external communications, media relations in a global B2B industry and/or as a journalist.
  • Proven experience managing media relations in Europe with an understanding of the global media landscape.
  • Excellent writing, editing and content development skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
