About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Developer, Mobile to join our team at Polar. As a key member of our Mobile SW development team, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, delivering, and ensuring the quality of our mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and ship new features.
  • Work with external data sources and APIs to enhance our applications.
  • Produce well-tested, maintainable code that meets our high standards.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, and optimize application performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and implement them to improve development efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Android software engineering.
  • Proven experience in Android app development, including Kotlin, Java, and Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience working with remote data via REST, JSON, and protocol buffers, and third-party libraries and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of mobile development life cycles and SAFe processes.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Fluent English language skills.
Desired Skills
  • iOS and cross-platform development skills are a plus.
  • BLE knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Interest in learning and staying up-to-date with new technologies.
Location

Polar Headquarters in Kempele is the preferred location, but other locations in Finland may be considered.
