Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary Research Team Leader to lead our Quantum Algorithms team at Quantum Flagship. As a key member of our Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area, you will be responsible for driving excellence and impact in research, commercializing team's research and development to international customers, and creating a positive drive and excitement among team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Quantum Algorithms team: Provide visionary leadership, promote the team's visibility, and ensure the team's project portfolio is relevant and ambitious.
- Drive research and development: Contribute to research projects, collaborate with companies, policy makers, and other stakeholders, and foster internal and external collaboration to ensure wider impact.
- Manage team performance: Coach team members, develop their skills, and prioritize employee well-being, recruitment, and competence development.
- Collaborate with the leadership team: Participate in the VTT's Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area's leadership team and contribute to broader decisions that drive forward impactful research.
Requirements:
- Excellent substance knowledge: Strong understanding of quantum algorithms and research skills with a proven track record.
- Leadership experience: Proven ability to coach and develop people, create a positive drive, and get people excited about their work.
- Communication skills: Good communication skills and ability to build high-value research collaborations.
- Education: Master of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent science experience, with a doctoral degree considered an asset.
