Senior Scientist, Quantum Technology Innovator

VTT, a leading applied research organisation in Europe, is seeking a Senior Scientist to support our Superconductive Quantum Interface Devices (SQUID) team at Espoo. As a member of our Quantum Sensors team, you will be part of a cross-disciplinary community of over 2000 brilliant minds focused on creating impact through science-based innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead national and international projects in the field of superconductivity, tunnel junctions, and metal-semiconductor interfaces.
- Network with national and international quantum technology stakeholders to ideate new research topics and prepare projects for funding sources.
- Contribute to the development of ground-breaking technologies in superconducting quantum computing, quantum CMOS, solid state coolers, SQUID amplifiers, quantum sensors, and graphene-based detectors.
- M.Sc. or D.Sc. in physics, engineering physics, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in the fields of quantum technologies, including superconductivity, tunnel junctions, and metal-semiconductor interfaces.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Ability to coordinate projects involving experts from materials physics, device design, manufacturing processes, and characterization.
