Research Team Leader for Quantum Algorithms

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is a leading research organization in Europe, and we're seeking a visionary Research Team Leader to join our Quantum Algorithms team. As a key member of our Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area, you'll be part of an international team of world-class experts in quantum algorithms, quantum information, and quantum computing platforms.
The team is responsible for developing and operating VTT's quantum computing services to customers, and you'll play a crucial role in facilitating the growth of quantum technologies research at VTT. As a thought leader on quantum computing, you'll have the opportunity to promote the team's research and visibility, and contribute to broader decisions that drive impactful research.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Quantum Algorithms team with a clear vision and strategy, ensuring the team's project portfolio is relevant and ambitious.
- Collaborate with companies, policy makers, and other stakeholders to drive impactful research and commercialization of the team's research and development.
- Contribute to research projects as a key team member, leveraging your expertise in quantum algorithms and quantum computing.
- As a member of the VTT's Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area's leadership team, you'll foster internal and external collaboration to ensure wider impact.
- Coach and develop the team, focusing on employee wellbeing, recruitment, and competence development.
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithms and quantum computing, with a strong track record of driving excellence and impact in research.
- Master of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent science experience, with a doctoral degree considered an asset.
- Interest in commercializing the team's research and development to international customers.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and develop people, and build high-value research collaborations.
- Proficient English skills.
