Job Description

VTT is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Research Team Leader to lead our Quantum Algorithms team. As a key member of our Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area, you will be responsible for driving excellence and impact in research, commercializing team's research and development to international customers, and creating a positive drive and excitement among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Quantum Algorithms team and be the spokesperson for quantum algorithms research topics.
  • Develop and implement a project portfolio that is relevant and ambitious, and foster collaboration with companies, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to research projects and participate in relevant research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the VTT's Microelectronics and Quantum Technology research area's leadership team to combine competences and foster internal/external collaboration.
  • Coach the team and team members' performance as an inspirational leader, prioritizing employee wellbeing, recruitment, and team's competence development.
Requirements
  • Excellent substance knowledge and understanding of quantum algorithms.
  • Proven research skills with a strong track record and several years of working experience in driving excellence and impact in research.
  • Interest in commercializing team's research and development to international customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach and develop people.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build high-value research collaboration.
  • Proficient English skills.
