Site Manager Finland

Nordex Group is seeking a skilled Site Manager to oversee wind farm operations in Finland and potentially in Sweden and Norway. As a key member of our Project Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects, from planning to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the project manager in site planning, preparation, and execution.
  • Oversee and control civil and electrical BOP works in anticipation of turbine delivery.
  • Lead the arrival at site, erection, and commissioning of turbines, ensuring the wind farm is handed over to the customer and Nordex Service team safely, on-time, and to excellent quality.
  • Manage all aspects of safety and environmental requirements at the wind farm site.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders at the wind farm site.
  • Manage all Nordex suppliers at the site, including erection and transportation companies.
  • Create a successful and enjoyable team with members from various support departments.
  • Provide the Project Manager with necessary reporting and support, including progress reporting, claims for extension of time and/or costs, feedback on installed equipment, and quality issues at site.
  • Work within Nordex processes to manage and report progress on the project, providing constructive suggestions for process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Leadership and team forming skills, including good communication.
  • Planning and risk management abilities, with the capacity to define, delegate, and communicate objectives.
  • A practical, technical appreciation of civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering (LV and MV), with an understanding of heavy lifting operations and working at heights.
  • Strong knowledge of local Finnish/Swedish health and safety legislation, with an advantage if you speak Finnish or Swedish.
  • Good English skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-reliance, able to work under pressure in remote areas with a small team.
  • Determination, creativity, and good humour to face challenges in a rapidly growing and changing business and market.
  • The ability to learn quickly about all aspects of wind farms and the technology of wind turbines.
  • The ability to work with teammates and partners from different countries.
  • Willingness to travel.
