Mechanical Package Manager

Location: Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland

Additional Benefits: all Flights & Accommodation Paid + Living Allowance of €250 EUR per week (net) on top of your salary (full benefits description as below)

In partnership with an industry leader and dedicated Data Centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to their large technology clients, delivering throughout Europe. They are currently employing over 750 professionals and counting.

They specialise in providing turnkey Data Centre solutions, providing services from Design, through to Construction across the full range of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services as well as Commissioning.

We are pleased to announce that they have a vacancy for a Mechanical Package Manager to join their on-site team in Helsinki, Finland.

They are the Turnkey General Contractor for the Construction, Fit-Out, Commissioning and Handover of a 48MW Data Centre.

General Responsibility - Manage Package from inception to completion.

Below is a list of typical duties but is not exclusive of all duties that are required to be carried out during the project.

  1. High level Design Review - Review Package and Raise RFIs - Assess the scope of the package and generate high-level Requests for Information (RFIs).
  2. Develop Package Overview - Create a summary or overview of the package.
  3. Create High-Level Programme - Develop a high-level, package-specific schedule.
  4. Compile Equipment List/Material Takeoff - Prepare a list of required equipment and materials.
  5. Technical Submittal Schedule - Plan and schedule the submission of technical documents.
  6. Interfacing Review - Review and coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
  7. Subcontractor Selection - Develop and Issue Tender Pack - Create the tender package and send it to the commercial team for pricing.
  8. Answer RFIs - Respond to any Requests for Information (RFIs) from potential subcontractors.
  9. Tender Analysis and Recommendations - Analyze the tender responses and make recommendations for selecting subcontractors.
  10. Onboarding - Facilitate the onboarding process for selected subcontractors.
  11. Detailed Design Development - Develop Programme with Subcontractor - Create a schedule with subcontractors to meet project deadlines.
  12. Weekly Meetings - Set up and hold weekly meetings with subcontractors to review progress.
  13. Design Development - Develop and finalize the design, including technical submittals, RFIs, calculations, layouts, interface management, and BIM coordination.
  14. Meeting Attendance - Attend all necessary coordination meetings (BIM, Mechanical, MEP, Interface).
  15. BIM Coordination - Ensure BIM coordination includes plant replacement strategies and maintenance access.
  16. Weekly Reporting - Provide weekly reports to the Mechanical or MEP lead.
  17. Build & Testing - Weekly Progress Report - Compile weekly reports showing progress and highlight risks. Include a weekly photographic diary of the project.
  18. Site Safety Management - Work with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor on site safety.
  19. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Culture - Promote a strong culture focused on Quality, Health, Safety, and the environment.
  20. Project Schedule and Cost Management: Manage the project schedule and costs with the Project Manager and Commercial team. Oversee material deliveries, equipment, variations, and valuations. Ensure proper Change Management.
  21. Site Operations and Sub-Contractor Management - Oversee daily Site Operations and Sub-Contractor activities. Manage the snagging system and track labor hours. Attend various meetings and maintain sub-contractor documentation. Schedule and track material deliveries.
  22. Commissioning – Assist Information Handover - Help the commissioning team with the handover of information related to your package. Support Commissioning Team - Collaborate with the commissioning team to ensure all snags (issues) are addressed and resolved promptly by your subcontractor.
  23. Handover & Defects - Final Account - Close out the final financial account of the project. O & M Manuals and Training - Complete and hand over operation and maintenance manuals, and provide any necessary training. CMMS List - Finalize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) list. Punch List - Address and resolve any remaining issues on the punch list. Safety and QA Files - Finalize and hand over the safety and quality assurance files. Material and Plant Re-locations - Manage the relocation of materials and plant equipment. Site Spares - Ensure site spares are organized and documented. Guarantees and Warranties - Ensure all guarantees and warranties are in place. Project Plan - Complete and hand over the final project plan.

Requirements

  1. Previous experience in Project Management
  2. Proven record of Coordinating and Managing Large Installation projects
  3. Experience dealing with Industrial Relations issues
  4. Knowledge of Health & Safety
  5. Experienced in Design and Build
  6. Good technical knowledge of Mechanical systems

Additional Benefits: You will be working on a 3-week rotational basis (17/4 Rotational Roster with flights covered. e.g Monday to Saturday for two weeks & then Monday to Wednesday) with additional benefits covering: all accommodation covered (solo accommodation/own apartment, fully furnished with all utility bills paid inc. Wi-Fi), all flight and travel expenses covered, an additional €250 weekly living allowance (net) paid directly into your bank on top of your salary, a mass of internal progression and opportunity and the ability to visit, see and work in some of the most attractive places across Europe.

Ideally you will have EU Passport / EU Eligibility to live in Finland and an excellent grasp of the English language.
