Mechanical Supervisor, Helsinki, Finland

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that works on site comply with the Finnish statutory regulations and laws and that all the necessary records are recorded and kept for successful handover of site.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including setup, management, and closing out of the safety file as part of the Management team.
  • Management of Site QA in conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager, including setup, management, and close out of file.
  • Familiarity with and management of Project Schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineer, and Client requirements.
  • Assist with the management of all costs associated with your package including:

    - Mercury Mechanical Team
    - Sub-contractors
    - Material deliveries and goods receipting.
    - Plant and Equipment
    - Variations
    - Valuations
  • Management of all day-to-day on-site operations.
  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels, ensuring that there is a weekly minute meeting with sub-contractor.
  • Management of the Mercury "In Progress" snagging system ensuring that you return weekly punch lists where applicable.
  • Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally.
  • Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings, and Handover Meetings.
  • Close out of all project items including O & M Manuals, Punch List, Safety File, QA File, – all with the support of the Mechanical package manager.
  • Implement a weekly look ahead ensuring co-ordination with other trades.
  • Issue internal weekly progress report highlighting progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns, including risks within the control of Mercury, e.g., late deliveries.
  • Schedule & Track material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
  • Maintain a weekly project photographic diary.
  • All other duties associated with this role.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria:
  • Has obtained sufficient experience in the construction industry, taking into account the quality of the construction project and the level of task complexity (HVAC installation).
  • Has acquired sufficient experience and expertise in supervisory positions in the relevant field, considering the quality of the construction project and the level of task complexity (including responsibilities related to HVAC installations).
  • Has gained sufficient experience and good proficiency in demanding supervisory tasks in the relevant field (supervisory tasks related to HVAC installations).
  • Cons. engineer (BEng), specialized in HVAC, Master of engineering, with at least 70 ECTS credits in HVAC studies.
  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience.
