Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineer

Location: Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland

In partnership with an industry leader and dedicated Data Centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to their large technology clients, delivering throughout Europe. They are currently employing over 750 professionals and counting.

They specialise in providing turnkey Data Centre solutions, providing services from Design through to Construction across the full range of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical (M&E) Services as well as Commissioning.

We are pleased to announce that they are currently seeking a Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Engineer to join their team. This position will be site-based in Helsinki, Finland.

They are the Turnkey General Contractor for the Construction, Fit-Out, Commissioning, and Handover of a 48MW Data Centre.

Responsibilities

  1. Check works carried out and ensure quality control is maintained throughout.
  2. Work as part of the Quality team to ensure finished works meet standards required, managing quality of the works set against approved benchmarks, actively coordinate with the QA managers to ensure the correct documentation is submitted in a timely manner by the contractors.
  3. Liaise with sub-contractors on tracking progress against schedule and carry out sub-contractor meetings.
  4. Manage site documentation; RFI's, Tech subs, trackers, weekly and monthly reports, weekly vendor meetings, and all documentation associated with the scope you are managing.
  5. Attend and actively participate in Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning, Co-ordination, and lookahead meetings, as well as Handover Meetings.
  6. Review drawings with the design team and effectively solve any issues.
  7. Actively monitor and snag contractors' works ensuring works are installed as per the approved drawings and specifications ensuring the highest quality is achieved to ensure zero defects. Snag list to be raised on the approved platform and issued to the contractors with follow-up walks and close-out reports to be issued in a timely manner as the approved QMS.
  8. Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels, ensuring contractors are protecting finished works, and preventing damage at all times; raise observations as required.
  9. Coordinate works ensuring all trades have adequate time, material, and resources to complete their works on program.
  10. Manage health and safety, housekeeping material storage, actively participating in issuing the daily SPA's and permits, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the approved MSRA/RAMS, participate in the daily DAB's and Whiteboard meetings ensuring contractors are aware of ongoing and upcoming works.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar is essential.
  2. Ability to work on own initiative.
  3. 3+ years' experience working on Large Scale Projects.
  4. Experience in Facades and Fit-Out projects.
  5. Previous Data Centre experience.

Additional Benefits: You will be working on a 3-week rotational basis (17/4 Rotational Roster with flights covered, e.g., Monday to Saturday for two weeks & then Monday to Wednesday) with additional benefits covering: all accommodation covered (solo accommodation/own apartment, fully furnished with all utility bills paid including Wi-Fi), all flight and travel expenses covered, an additional €250 weekly living allowance (net) paid directly into your bank on top of your salary, a mass of internal progression and opportunity, and the ability to visit, see and work in some of the most attractive places across Europe.

Ideally, you will have EU Passport / EU Eligibility to live in Finland and an excellent grasp of the English language.
