Civil Engineering Manager

Location: Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland (site-based)

Full-time & Permanent

Reporting directly to the Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Lead

Additional Benefits: all Flights & Accommodation Paid + Living Allowance of €250 EUR per week (net) on top of your salary.

In partnership with an industry leader and dedicated Data Centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to their large technology clients, delivering throughout Europe. They are currently employing over 750 professionals and counting.

They specialise in providing turnkey Data Centre solutions, providing services from Design through to Construction across the full range of Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Services as well as Commissioning.

To support their growth, they are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking Civils Lead to join their established but growing team in Finland.

They are the Turnkey General Contractor for the Construction, Fit-Out, Commissioning and Handover of a 48MW Data Centre in Espoo.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage the Co-ordination of the Civil Work Packages on this Hyperscale Data Center Project.
  2. Manage a project team of 20+ including Package Managers, Design Managers, Engineers and Site Supervisors.
  3. Support your team in Managing 10+ Subcontractors with a combined package value in excess of €100m.
  4. Oversee Contractor's Design Elements of the project, ensuring design is carried out and relevant approvals in place ahead of Construction On-Site.
  5. Ensure BIM processes are followed by sub-contractors carrying out works under your supervision.
  6. Management of Site Safety in conjunction with safety personnel (including set-up, management and close out).
  7. Management of Site QA in conjunction with the Projects team.
  8. Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and Consulting Engineers/Architects to ensure client requirements are adhered to.
  9. Support the tracking of project costs with the support of the project QS's.
  10. Manage all day-to-day site operations and documentation.
  11. Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Carry out sub-contractor meetings.
  12. Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings as well as Handover Meetings.
  13. Support close out functions of all project items including Final Account, Punch List, Safety & QA Files, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan.
  14. Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations have been captured and processed.
  15. Ensure change management is handled in accordance with processes (Cost & Programme).
  16. Carry out distribute & close out Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) snags.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar preferred.
  2. At least 7 Years of Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) industry experience.
  3. Previous experience delivering projects from Concept to Handover.
  4. Experience in Scheduling, Programming, Managing Subcontractors and Sequencing.
  5. Experience in effectively Managing Teams is essential.
  6. Data Centre experience is advantageous but not necessary.
  7. Experience in the delivery of Large-Scale Projects is necessary.

Additional Benefits: You will be working on a 3-week rotational basis (17/4 Rotational Roster with flights covered. e.g Monday to Saturday for two weeks & then Monday to Wednesday) with additional benefits covering: all accommodation covered (solo accommodation/own apartment, fully furnished with all utility bills paid inc. Wi-Fi), all flight and travel expenses covered, an additional €250 weekly living allowance (net) paid directly into your bank on top of your salary, a mass of internal progression and opportunity and the ability to visit, see and work in some of the most attractive places across Europe.

Ideally, you will have EU Passport / EU Eligibility to work in Finland and an excellent grasp of the English language.
