About your role

We are looking for a Sourcing Manager to lead a designated category within Orion Packaging Materials in Direct Procurement. This role presents a unique opportunity to oversee a dynamic sourcing category, ensuring that our supplier portfolio, product offerings, and capabilities align with Orion's future business needs and strategic goals.

As a Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the supplier base for your category in Orion's Packaging Materials.

Your key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supplier relationship management and ownership in your category.
  • Leading RFQ processes and supplier selection, ensuring the best partnerships for Orion.
  • Negotiating pricing, business models, and sourcing agreements to drive optimal value.
  • Owning and leading the category strategy and risk management work within your area.
  • Participating in product projects and actively managing the product/material lifecycle to align with business needs and strategy at Orion.
  • Collaborating across organizational boundaries, working with experts from various functions at Orion to leverage the best expertise and knowledge.
  • Leading initiatives and proactively planning future actions to drive success in your own category and with your suppliers.

This role requires strategic thinking, ability to see the big picture together with important details, negotiation expertise, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure optimal sourcing decisions. Our expectations

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 2 years of proven professional experience in global sourcing and supplier management.
To succeed in this role, a positive, can-do attitude and strong collaboration and networking skills are essential. You are a curious, goal-driven, and motivated self-starter who naturally takes ownership of tasks and sees them through to completion. With your growth mindset and dedication, you thrive on developing and leading processes within your sourcing area independently, working closely with both suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and great results.

You have a strong understanding of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and category management and bring experience in supplier and commercial agreement negotiations, as well as pricing and business model discussions. You communicate and negotiate fluently in English and Finnish, with additional language skills considered as an advantage.

Additionally, we expect that you have:

  • Strategic sourcing mindset and an understanding of the sourcing and supplier management principles.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20 days per year.
  • SAP and SRM tool knowledge and category-specific knowledge are counted as an asset.
