WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

Yousician is seeking a seasoned and hands-on leader to head our Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics teams. In this senior leadership role, you will shape and execute the vision for how Yousician strategically uses data to scale our platform and enhance the music-learning experience for millions worldwide.

As the Head of Data & Insights, you will lead a talented team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, working across the organization — from engineering and product development to marketing — to leverage one of the most extensive datasets on music learning globally. You will have a profound influence on the strategic direction of the company by architecting data-driven solutions that push the boundaries of how music is taught and experienced.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the Head of Data & Insights, you'll have the opportunity to impact the entire organization by making data more accessible and actionable. Here are more details:

  1. Data Strategy Development: Architect and implement a comprehensive data strategy that maximizes the use of data across all functional areas, driving customer acquisition, retention, and engagement through advanced analytics, machine learning, and experimental design.
  2. Insight Communication: Clearly and simply communicate insights from complex analyses to all levels of the company, fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring that decisions are informed by sound analytics.
  3. Lead and Mentor: Guide, mentor, and manage a team of 10 data scientists, analysts and engineers, setting the direction and vision for how we collect, store and use data.
  4. Technical Leadership: Define, architect, and implement together with your team a technical stack that ensures maximum productivity for working on product and growth initiatives. Investigate new data sources, methodologies, and techniques to solve complex challenges.
  5. Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to establish key performance indicators and ensure data-driven decision-making across the company.
  6. Innovation: Support product and growth teams on larger projects, driving innovation through data insights to enhance user experience and get us closer to our vision of reimagining music learning.
  7. Benchmarking and Standardization: Establish benchmarks and standardize experimentation methodologies to ensure rigorous data analysis that drives success across the company.

WHO YOU ARE

  1. Proven Leader: You have several years of relevant experience, with a track record of delivering impactful data solutions in a cross-functional context. You excel at leading and mentoring a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  2. Technical Expertise: You have substantial experience with SQL and are highly skilled in one or more analytic frameworks (Python, R, Scala, etc.).
  3. Innovative Thinker: You are passionate about solving novel and unstructured problems, and you're inclined toward building forward-thinking data solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible.
  4. Strong Communicator: You possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses clearly and effectively to all levels of an organization.
  5. Strategic Visionary: You have the ability to develop a data strategy roadmap, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  6. Industry Experience: Experience in a fast-growing tech company is a big plus, particularly if you've worked in data-rich environments with complex challenges.
