As our Director, ERM & CreditRisk, you will manage risks from a second line perspective in relation to all aspects of the business operation of Verifone Payments entities globally. This is an exciting opportunity and a rare chance to join a new role which you can and will make your own.

First and foremost, you are the subject matter expert on credit risk management and credit fraud. In this position, you are the process owner of Verifone's overall credit management process on a global scale. Your main responsibilities include:

1. Designing and implementing the group credit risk framework.
2. Designing and implementing a second line credit exposure function for partners and Enterprise customers.
3. Supporting the first line in performing risk assessments, by providing guidance and organizing dedicated ERM workshops.
4. Identifying risks and analyzing the impact thereof.
5. Advising on and testing the effectiveness and the execution of control measures within the first line.
6. Controlling the credit exposure of Verifone Payments.

This position is a new one in our organization and as such you will be creating both short- and long-term strategies for our credit management processes. We expect you to be able to present, argue and communicate complex matters to all levels of the organization.

You will lead a team of five credit fraud and ERM associates and we hope you would have vision, initiative and experience to lead and coach your direct reports to achieve greater results. Your role is to be a teacher, a coach and a visionary who enjoys providing knowledge sharing and training to all parts of the organization.

It's important that you have the ability to communicate with various levels and various functional areas within Verifone. You will provide knowledge sharing and training to different stakeholders and interested parties in the Verifone organization to maintain a high level of credit risk-aware culture. You will advise and support the business lines at implementing established policies and (additional) measures and provide updates and changes to Risk Committees or Change Advisory Boards.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in second line risk and credit risk management and ideally you have worked with risk management tools such as OneTrust or Service Now for instance.

Besides acting as the subject matter expert on credit management and taking the lead on developing our credit management operations, as our ERM & Credit Risk Director your responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

• Working with the risk instruments developed within the ERM framework (as Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Monitoring and Testing, Issue Management & Action Tracking, Change Risk Assessment, Strategic Risk Assessment, Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment, BCM, Integrity Risk Analysis).
• Supporting the first line in designing control measures for mitigating the risks above the risk appetite.
• Supporting the first line in designing credit controls and processes.
• Involving in monitoring and testing first line control measures, and preparing reporting and presentations of the results for the higher management.
• Ensuring that Risk Management processes are in compliance with European regulations (providing support for the second line to update and implement the ERM framework).
• Developing, proposing, and updating together with second line members, risk policies and (additional) measures for decision making by the board of directors of Verifone Payments B.V. and the Risk Committee.

To be successful in this role, you need to possess strong analytical and verbal skills and a solution-oriented approach. The ideal candidate has a strong background in ERM and/or credit fraud risk and your professional history could be either from financial services or fintech/paytech industry. Background in corporate credit risk management is suitable should you have otherwise extensive experience and risk management certificates would be a plus. More than your degree, we are interested in your expertise and experience from creating credit management frameworks, working in a global organization and acting as the number one subject matter expert to all levels of organization.

You can be based anywhere in Finland as long as you are able to visit our office in Helsinki on a weekly basis while some international travel is required. The position is full time and permanent. In a global role we expect you to be able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in other languages is a plus but not mandatory.
