Join Beneq as an Equipment Engineer – Drive Innovation in ALD Technology

Beneq, a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) solutions, is looking for a skilled and proactive Equipment Engineer to join our Research Tools Product Team within the Advanced ALD Business Unit. Your Role at Beneq

As an Equipment Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the performance of our TFS 200 and TFS 500 ALD tools. Your primary focus will be on maximizing tool uptime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and process hardware testing. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer sample processing and contribute to the continuous improvement of our equipment performance.

Your Key Responsibilities

Tool Maintenance and Uptime

  • Ensure high tool availability to meet customer sample schedules.
  • Perform preventive and regular maintenance on TFS 200 and TFS 500 ALD tools.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to reduce downtime.

Operator Responsibilities

  • Execute ALD thin film deposition process runs in a cleanroom environment.
  • Collaborate closely with Process Development Engineers to optimize operations.

Process Hardware Testing

  • Test, verify, and report on the performance and feasibility of process-related hardware components.
  • Work alongside Process Development and Engineering teams to drive improvements.

Equipment Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering, process development, and vendors to address complex problems.
  • Analyze root causes of tool failures and implement corrective actions.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with engineering, process development, and assembly teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to support process and quality improvements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and repairs to identify trends and improvement areas.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a hands-on Equipment Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to equipment management. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A MSc. Or BSc. in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance or engineering, ideally with vacuum technology.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Knowledge of thin film processes and experience working in a cleanroom environment is a plus.

Bonus Skills That Set You Apart

  • Familiarity with equipment and chemicals used in wafer fabrication, deposition, lithography, or etching processes.
  • Experience with maintenance tracking systems.
  • Certifications or training in equipment maintenance or thin film processes.
