Elomatic and thyssenkrupp Marine Systems have signed a major ship design contract for the groundbreaking new Polarstern, the world's largest and most advanced research and polar logistics icebreaker (AWI - The new Polarstern). This cutting-edge vessel, replacing the existing Polarstern, will feature state-of-the-art scientific equipment, sustainable propulsion, and the ability to break through 1.8-meter-thick ice.
Elomatic delivers nearly all basic and detail design work, as well as providing production and commissioning support. With a strong track record in designing icebreakers - including Canada's new Polar icebreaker for Canada's national shipbuilding strategy - this project marks a significant milestone in strengthening the global Arctic fleet of heavy icebreakers.
Join our growing team and help shape the future of ship design We are looking for System Responsible Engineers (SRE) to join our offices in Wismar (Germany), Gdańsk (Poland), or Turku and Espoo (Finland).
We are looking for marine System Responsible Engineers for our international consulting and engineering projects. There is a need for a wide range of SRE from more experienced designers. In Germany and Poland, a master's degree is required, while in Finland, both bachelor's and master's degrees are applicable. We primarily look for solution-oriented team players, who are eager to work in international project teams. We welcome both experienced professionals and young engineers to apply. Our highly skilled team provides strong support and training, and we even offer opportunities for international training and development.
System Responsible Engineers will concentrate on specific systems/equipment to support the project development during all design phases from the basic design and procurement support to detail design and production and commissioning support.
