We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician/Laboratory Coordinator to join our team at the Faculty of Bio and Environmental Sciences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Faculty research teams in conducting molecular biology and genomic analyses in ecologically relevant species. This will include tasks such as DNA and RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing (e.g. bulk and single-cell RNA-seq), targeted SNP assay development and analysis, and related bioinformatic methodologies.
Responsibilities- Assist Faculty research teams in conducting molecular biology and genomic analyses
- Perform DNA and RNA extraction, next-generation sequencing, and other laboratory tasks
- Develop and analyze targeted SNP assays
- Maintain databases and assist with animal and plant experiments
The ideal candidate will have experience with laboratory techniques and be enthusiastic about learning new skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential for this role.
