The Role

  • As a Senior Data Engineer at Kempower, you'll contribute to the ever-evolving EV market by developing scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
  • You will future-proof our existing data platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize transportation.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Develop scalable and cost-effective data solutions in co-operation with internal stakeholders.
  2. Create production-grade data solutions that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Improve existing data models to build scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
  4. Build new and optimize existing data pipelines.
  5. Plan and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  6. Take ownership of ChargEye's data landscape, ensuring high-quality data governance.
  7. Oversee data quality and ensure it meets business requirements.
  8. Mentor and support junior colleagues in the team.

Key Technologies

  • AWS services like Kinesis, S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
  • TimescaleDB for time series data storage.
  • ElasticSearch as the analytical application backend.
  • Databricks with PySpark and SQL for large-scale analytics.
  • Terraform for maintaining infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Prior experience with big data technologies and distributed computing (Apache Spark, EMR, Databricks).
  • Good grasp of SQL and database technologies (TimescaleDB, Databricks).
  • Some experience with CI/CD pipelines and basic software development practices.
  • Understanding of IaC and prior experience with Terraform.

  • Prior experience with streaming analytics (Flink, Structured streaming in Spark).
