About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Commissioning Specialist / Industrial Operations Manager to join our team at Wärtsilä Energy. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing mechanical construction and commissioning works and teams at our sites.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage mechanical installation and commissioning activities at the site.
  • Lead the mechanical team at the site, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and follow up on the progress of mechanical works at the site, identifying potential constraints and developing mitigation strategies.
  2. Proactively manage the scope of work and material flow, securing necessary resources to ensure timely completion.
  3. Manage and guide subcontractors, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  4. Coordinate Last Planner System (LPS) activities with subcontractors and monitor progress.
  5. Facilitate Root Cause Analyses and solve constraints of mechanical works.
  6. Follow and give input to the project time schedule, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  7. Maintain good customer relations and team spirit at the site.
  8. Highlight economical construction and cost-saving working procedures.
  9. Manage and maintain good reporting practices, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  10. Ensure that mechanical as-built drawings are completed and communicated.
  11. Safeguard compliance with HSSE policies and minimize risks in mechanical installations and commissioning.
  12. Coordinate construction and installation works in cooperation with Civil and Electrical disciplines following LPS methods.
  13. Ensure that design and installation instructions are followed.
  14. Arrange inspection of received material and goods at the site.
  15. Review invoices from subcontractors and suppliers.
  16. Maintain records of change orders and claims.
  17. Organize and lead the mechanical weekly site meetings.
  18. Ensure quality control at the site.
  19. Advise and support the client in planning, organizing, and execution of tests.
  20. Manage and plan safe inspections and test procedures.
  21. Instruct and advise supervisors and subcontractors to use accepted test and inspection methods and proper test equipment.
  22. Ensure testing of installed equipment and document test results.
  23. Manage punch list.
  24. Ensure that all required documents are submitted and signed by the customer for taking over the plant.
