Academic Lecturer in English Literature

Åbo Akademi University is seeking a highly qualified university lecturer in English, with specialization in literature to join its faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the subject of English Language and Literature.

• Teaching and supervision of students in English literature, including courses in spoken and written skills and introductory courses in literature.
• Research and publication in the field of English literature, with opportunities for collaboration with other faculty members.
• Participation in research seminars and contribution to the subject's research environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree in English literature or a closely related discipline, as well as pedagogical competence. Experience of teaching a wide range of courses in English literature is a merit.

1. Pedagogical competence, including relevant teaching and supervision experience, and experience of planning and developing curricula.
2. Research competence, including achieved academic merits and scholarly publications in English Literature.
3. Interactive competence, including good co-operation and administrative skills, and experience of collaboration in national and international networks.
