About the Role

As a Solar Engineer at DNV, you will play a key role in providing consulting services to our existing customers and exploring new opportunities in the solar sector. You will collaborate with other technical professionals to deliver high-quality projects and contribute to the growth of our energy advisory business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management for small, less complex solar projects
  • Technical due diligence during the pre-construction and operational phases of solar projects, including data analysis, documentation review, and risk assessment
  • Technology and design review and optimization of solar PV plants (both utility and C&I scale)
  • Site visits to solar farms to assess project progress and identify potential issues
  • Solar Resource Assessments and Energy Production Assessments to ensure project feasibility and efficiency
  • Contributing to winning new external work by expanding ongoing projects and leveraging our global networks
Requirements
  • Previous experience in the solar sector, ideally at least two years in consultancy or engineering companies
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in solar/renewable energy, engineering, physics, or another relevant discipline
  • Proficiency in English and Finnish
  • Willingness to travel short distances across the country and internationally
  • Experience with PVsyst and other PV modeling software, AutoCAD, and Python
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • A valid driving license
