The Strategic Purchaser will be responsible for strategic sourcing from suppliers and responsibility areas. They will manage, expand, and develop the global supplier base to meet long-term business requirements.
This role involves creating and implementing supplier strategies and action plans to meet Business Line requirements. The candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product teams, project management, proposal management, and lifecycle management.
The successful candidate will lead the introduction of new sources or products to market, ensuring timely delivery and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
They will secure supplier capacity and availability for energy storage demand, considering cost and technology requirements.
The role requires monitoring supplier performance and ensuring that Quality, Cost, Lead Time, Delivery Reliability, and Agreement Coverage targets are met for the Wärtsilä Energy Storage global supplier base.
The Strategic Purchaser will actively seek supply chain cost reduction opportunities and promote supplier or product value analysis/value engineering work.
They will ensure compliance to Supply Management processes, procedures, strategies, and agreements.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Economics.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, or procurement.
- Experience in the battery industry or renewable energy business is preferred.
- Knowledge of legal, financial, and technology components of Strategic Sourcing.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
