Aalto University invites applications for a research scientist position in the field of compound semiconductor energy conversion. The selected candidate will join our Engineered NanoSystems research group and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for energy conversion.

About the Research Group

The Engineered NanoSystems research group focuses on the design, fabrication, and characterization of semiconductor-based energy converters.

We aim to demonstrate and develop novel semiconductor-based chemical energy converters and push the boundaries of what is currently possible with compound semiconductors.

Responsibilities and Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Design and fabricate semiconductor-based energy converters
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data
  • Publish research results in top-tier scientific journals
  • Present research findings at conferences

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field
  • Strong background in III-V semiconductor device fabrication, epitaxy, and theory
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

The salary levels follow the salary system of Finnish universities, with a starting salary of approximately €4,200-€4,360 per month.
