About the Team

As a Senior Intellectual Property Specialist at Codento, you will be an integral part of a dynamic global team dedicated to managing a robust patent portfolio. Collaborating closely with researchers, subject matter experts, and standard delegates, you will identify and safeguard high-value inventions related to devices, playing a crucial role from conception to claim charting. This position also requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to draft and prosecute high-quality patent applications, ensuring successful patent grants. Your technical expertise will enhance our patent portfolio's development, particularly in the wireless technology sector, overseeing patents related to cellular standards and Wi-Fi technologies.

This role is pivotal within Codento's Intellectual Property department, offering significant opportunities for professional growth and success within a respected organization. Your Contributions and Learning Opportunities

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Intellectual Property Specialist will be responsible for:

  1. Identifying, capturing, and managing intellectual property rights, with a focus on evaluating inventions.
  2. Collaborating with in-house patent professionals and external partners to create high-quality patent applications in the wireless technology domain.
  3. Overseeing the prosecution of patent applications across various jurisdictions worldwide.
  4. Preparing and managing claim charts related to device standards to support licensing and litigation initiatives.
  5. Fostering a culture of innovation within the organization, working closely with the R&D community and other patent professionals.

Essential Skills and Experience

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A Master’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field relevant to Codento's operations.
  2. In-depth knowledge of the telecommunications and mobile industry.
  3. Extensive technical understanding of 3GPP cellular technologies or various Wi-Fi and IEEE standards, along with their implementation in products.
  4. A solid grasp of the patenting process, with qualifications as a European or National Patent Attorney being advantageous.
  5. The ability to work proactively and collaboratively across teams and business units.
  6. Strong prioritization skills, with the capacity to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be beneficial if you also had:

  1. A strong R&D background with a proven track record of inventions or patents in mobile technology.
  2. A minimum of three years of experience in intellectual property rights and/or cellular standards.
