In this role, you will ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS, and other financial reporting regulations while maintaining internal controls to safeguard the balance sheet.

Additionally, you will analyze the legal entity's actual financial data, investigate significant variances from the plan, and actively contribute to development projects as both a participant and leader.

As our Financial Controller, you will be in charge of the financial oversight of certain legal entities of the Outokumpu Group in Finland – Europe Oy Principal.

About Your Role:

  • Responsible for compliance with financial laws and regulations

  • Identify and investigate accounting and financial problems and propose rapid solutions

  • Play a key role in verifying correct monthly, quarterly, and annual closure numbers and coordinating the closure process

  • Take part in Controlling compliance to local and Group policies and procedures

  • Contribute to the improvement of local accountancy processes

  • Coordinate audit processes for accountable entities

  • Analyze actual legal entity financial data, accurate figures, explanation, and presentation of results

  • Actively identify significant risks related to financial reporting or protecting assets

  • Actively participate and lead development initiatives

  • Create collaborative networks for cooperation between core businesses in Finland, Sweden, and Germany, both financially and functionally, with sales and SCM

  • Ensure financial processes are implemented and executed in accordance with guidelines

  • Co-operation with the Group tax department for the preparation of tax calculations and declarations

About You:

  • Master's Degree in Finance/Accounting or similar

  • At least some relevant work experience, excellent professional skills in own area e.g., statutory reporting and taxation

  • Good business acumen, business partnering skills

  • Good professional skills in own area

  • Strong understanding of local laws and regulations impacting financial management

  • Good analytical skills, high level of initiative and independence

  • Good digital skills

  • Strong collaborations skills both financially and cross functionally

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish, in both verbal and written form
