Key accountabilities of the role:

  • Data Architecture and Design: Develop and maintain scalable data architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems.
  • Data Pipeline Development: Create, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for data collection, integration, transformation, and distribution.
  • ETL Processes: Design and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into usable formats, and load it into target systems.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security. Implement data governance policies and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve data engineering practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, architectures, and processes to ensure they are understandable and replicable.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and data integrity, optimizing processes for efficiency and speed.

This position can be located in any of our Nordic offices: at our headquarters in Helsinki, in Stockholm or Gjelleråsen. Occasional travel within the Nordics is required.

Role & competence requirements:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in data engineering or architecture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and ETL tools.
  • Strong expertise in database design, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Experience with the Snowflake cloud data platform.
  • Adaptability: Manage changing environments and multiple tasks.
  • Service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication skills; Capability to communicate clearly to business about the IT processes and possible process changes.
  • Fluent in English; Any Nordic language skills are an asset.
