We are looking for a Chief Project Engineer Mechanical or Senior Chief Project Engineer Mechanical with a main responsibility in project and engineering activities in the mechanical discipline in the Engine Power Plant organisation. The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland but Turku and Helsinki are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding that mechanical works are executed according to contract specifications and design directives as a member of a project team
  • Make purchase specifications and bill of quantities as required for the project execution. Make project specific design and design packages
  • Co-ordinate the design between sub-suppliers
  • Develop Power Plant project wise mechanical solution for the client
  • Carry out sub-supplier quality- and delivery follow-up
  • Support our site team during installation and commission phases
  • Give feedback regarding technical solutions and complaints
  • Participate in development projects
  • Support and guide and mentor other junior team members

Requirements and Qualifications for the position:

  • BSc. or MSc. in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • Being self-going, having team working skills, motivation to learn and grow professionally and willingness to travel as well as ability to understand and work with diverse cultures
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical project engineering
  • Good command in English
  • Negotiation and communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Technical skills in mechanical engineering and process & automation engineering

Additional qualifications or wishes:

  • Knowing Future fuels like Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol is seen as a benefit
  • Mastering AI and digital solutions are seen as a benefit
  • Commercial mindset
  • Open mindset
  • Additional languages in French, Spanish or German language is seen as a benefit
