Are you a dedicated and experienced PYP/MYP French Teacher? The International School of Helsinki is seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Years (PYP) and Middle Years (MYP) French Teacher to inspire and engage students in their language-learning journey. This is a full-time, fixed-term position within our dynamic IB World School, where inquiry-based learning and intercultural understanding are at the core of our curriculum.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Teach French as an additional language to PYP and MYP students.
• Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that align with IB philosophy and language acquisition frameworks.
• Foster a love for language learning, communication, and cultural appreciation.
• Differentiate instruction to support students with varying levels of proficiency in French.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and reports to students and parents.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including the language department and IB coordinators, to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
• Participate in school-wide events, language initiatives, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field. Teaching certification and significant experience in teaching French, preferably in an IB PYP/MYP setting or international school.
• Native or near-native proficiency in French and fluency in English.
• Strong understanding of IB curriculum principles and inquiry-based language teaching methods.
• Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students of diverse linguistic backgrounds.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
