Technical Writer

At Clevry, we are currently searching for a Technical Writer to join our client, Metso. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) with a 6-month contract starting in May 2025. The position is based in Espoo, and you will be employed by Clevry for Metso.

As a Technical Writer, your main responsibility will be to create clear and accurate documentation, including instruction manuals and technical content, while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will also collaborate with stakeholders, gather technical data, and support risk analysis to document equipment-related risks.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented and able to produce high-quality work. You can work independently as well as part of a team. Fluent proficiency in both English and Russian is essential, and Finnish language skills are considered an advantage. Experience with modularized documentation, including experience in content migration and the standard of technical information is advantageous, as well as knowledge of spare part documentation principles.

1. Create instruction manual packages and other equipment-specific documentation.
2. Collect information related to technical data, installation, operation, maintenance, and safety matters to create concept-based instructions.
3. Ensure that the documentation complies with the Machinery Directive or other regulations used in the project.
4. Provide support for all stakeholders and share your expertise on project-related content.
5. Participate in risk analysis of equipment and document residual risks in user documentation.
6. Produce deliverables (paper prints, online and offline publishing) in collaboration with partners.

1. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a technical writer.
2. B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of relevant directives, e.g. EN ATEX or PED.
4. Experience in project work.
5. A solid understanding of technology, customer needs, project needs, processes and services.
6. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Russian; Finnish is an advantage.
7. Proficiency in MS Office.
