What You'll Be Doing

We are searching for a System Specialist, who has previous working experience of server management and network infrastructure based on SaaS offerings, as well as exposure to different architecture models, to join our Apix software development team

In this position, you will be part of the Apix operations team, responsible for administering infrastructure and ensuring services are up and running 24/7. You will be proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning, providing input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment. Your responsibility is to manage, coordinate, and implement software updates, patches, and hot fixes on servers. You will also create instructions for system architectures, infrastructure components, processes, and workflows. You get to work closely with the software development team and improve the whole lifecycle of our SaaS services, starting from the design to deployment to measuring and optimizing performance and cost efficiency.

When working with us, you can participate in various projects, where you are part of designing and developing our solutions.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this position, we are looking for an experienced System Specialist who has:

  • Strong knowledge of public cloud infrastructures (especially AWS), security, networking (managing VPNs), virtualization, load balancer, storage solutions, and databases.
  • Experience in configuration as code (Ansible) and system administration with common operating systems (Linux, Windows, MacOS).
  • Hands-on experience maintaining relational databases (e.g., with MySQL).
  • The skills to identify technical challenges, proactively propose solutions by industry-best standards, and drive the team towards effective problem-solving.
  • Experience in documenting system architectures, infrastructure components, processes, and workflows to ensure clarity for team members and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of best practices in system optimization, resource management, and proactive system health monitoring.
  • Good interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams and stakeholders.
  • You have fluent communication skills in English, written and spoken. Finnish language skills are appreciated.
  • Experience with QA and test automation is seen as a plus.

Please note that passing the standard security clearance vetting conducted by the Finnish Security and Intelligence Service is a requirement for employment in this position. The employer begins the security clearance process immediately after both parties have signed the employment contract.

Location: Espoo, Tampere, Turku, Jyväskylä (we work in hybrid mode, but the team meets regularly in the office).
