We continue to grow in Europe with numerous new hires, and we are now looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our dynamic and growing team in Helsinki, Finland.

Specifically, we are looking for specialists with experience in environmental due diligence (EDD), sustainability, environmental impact assessments or permitting for the industrial and energy sectors. Our new colleagues will also have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary network of experts in our offices in Europe, North America and Australia.

Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to the construction of our environmental businesses in the Nordic Region, Europe, North America, and Australia.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Environmental Due Diligence (EHS/ESG) and auditing, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Licensing & Permitting, Risk Assessments;
  2. Due diligence and historical research, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments;
  3. Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  4. Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  5. Developing task, project, and client management skills.

Education and Licensure

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field of study. (required)
  2. Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  3. Professional certification or membership to professional bodies. (desirable)

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  1. At least 2 years (5+ preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  2. Understanding of Finnish and EU energy, industrial and environmental regulations. (required)
  3. Understanding of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). (desirable)
  4. Experience of preparing DNSH assessments. (desirable, but not essential)
  5. Experience working in the renewable energy sector. (desirable)
  6. Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  7. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  8. Valid Finnish driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
  9. This position requires the ability to collaborate and communicate both internally and externally, so bilingual proficiency in Finnish and English is valuable.
