About The Role

About this opportunity

Senior professional Project Manager (site-based), responsible for managing customer relationships, and coordinating the delivery of data centres construction projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  2. Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
  3. Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that project management and/or programme management deliverables meet Customers' requirements and business procedures.
  4. Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent or Project Manager.
  5. Advising the Customer on specialist services, including consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers required in connection with the project.
  6. Advising the Customer of its obligations under the national jurisdictional construction, design management or safety regulations or statutes.
  7. Reviewing the scope of contract and team appointments and advise on additional works required by third parties.
  8. Advising on methods of progressing construction works.
  9. If appropriate and reasonably necessary, visit sites of the extraction, fabrication and assembly or testing of materials and components to inspect such materials and workmanship before delivery to the project site.
  10. Preparing and maintaining a handover plan or similar management tool, identifying the roles and responsibilities, and establishing review, approval, variation and reporting procedures.
  11. Coordinating all parties and preparing substantial/practical completion documentation, submittal of manuals and handover documentation.
  12. Monitoring and reporting on the development of the commissioning plan.
  13. Advising the Customer on any improvements that may increase project efficiency.
  14. Advising on discrepancies, inconsistencies or mistakes in design documents and ask for rectification.
  15. Monitoring compliance with Customer's requirements.
  16. Monitoring the construction process on-site and promptly alerting the Customer to any potential delays or cost difficulties. Undertaking regular site walks to promote and observe safety, quality and progress.
  17. Overseeing developments of the contractor's detailed critical path method schedule.
  18. Monitoring schedule progress and budget compliance through the contract process.
  19. Supporting to evaluate and resolve change order applications.
  20. Ensuring all notices are administered in accordance with the construction contract and Customer's requirements.
  21. Presenting reports to the Customer and producing site meetings as may be required to ensure that the Customer´s team is fully informed.
  22. Mentoring and coaching employees to their full potential.
  23. Managing service delivery for profit.
  24. Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

About You

Who we're looking for:

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

  1. 7+ years of project management experience.
  2. Experience managing mission critical related construction projects (data centres, life science, etc.).
  3. Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  4. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  5. Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  6. Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
  7. Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  8. Ability to work as part of a team.
  9. Eligible to work in the EU.
  10. Experience working in the Nordics is desirable.
  11. Professional level of English.

Qualifications

  1. University degree - Engineering, Construction manager.
  2. Additional qualification in Project Management is desirable.
