Winthrop specialises in providing turnkey data centre solutions, offering services from design through to construction across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical services, as well as commissioning.

We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.

We have positions available across two 170MW data centre sites currently under construction in the Helsinki region (Espoo & Kirkkonummi) and we are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a Structural Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the co-ordination of the building envelope and structural work packages on this hyperscale project.
  2. Manage a project team of 20+, including package managers, design managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
  3. Support your team in managing 10+ subcontractors with a combined package value in excess of €100m.
  4. Oversee contractor's design elements of the project, ensuring design is carried out and relevant approvals are in place ahead of construction on-site.
  5. Ensure BIM processes are followed by sub-contractors carrying out works under your supervision.
  6. Manage, track, and develop plans for project costs, budgets, project labour, commissioning procedures, and project performance.
  7. Direct the setup for the structural activities, ensuring that best practice meeting and reporting documentation and schedules are implemented from the outset.
  8. Continuously engage with key project stakeholders such as clients and design teams to ensure project performance.
  9. Oversee ongoing client satisfaction with the project, especially in terms of cost, scope, and timescales.
  10. Proactively monitor the project's health & safety processes as well as the team's culture and behaviours.
  11. Monitor and ensure the quality targets are achieved and exceeded on the project.
  12. Ensure change management is handled in accordance with Winthrop processes (Cost & Programme).

The role reports directly to the CSA Lead.

Minimum Requirements
  1. A degree in a relevant construction or engineering subject.
  2. Previous experience delivering projects from concept to handover.
  3. Experience in scheduling, programming, managing subcontractors, and sequencing.
  4. Data centre experience is advantageous but not necessary.
  5. Experience in the delivery of large-scale projects is necessary.
  6. Previous experience in a similar role, delivering CSA elements of a project within a contracting environment is essential.
  7. Excellent organisational, communication, people, and time management skills.
  8. Proficiency in the use of MS Word & Excel is required.
  9. The ability to build robust relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  10. A flair for multitasking, looking at the bigger picture, and providing excellent attention to detail.
  11. A proactive, diligent, and forward-thinking approach.
  12. First-class leadership skills - you should be able to delegate, prioritize workloads, run productive meetings, and be a role model for others.
