Job Description
As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Jones Engineering employees, posted workers and subcontractors operating on our sites in Norway comply with applicable legal, regulatory and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) requirements. You will play a key role in minimising supply chain risk, safeguarding legal compliance, and supporting operational excellence. Working closely with the project stakeholders, you will act as the focal point for compliance-related matters, ensuring that all subcontractors and posted workers meet Norway legal standards throughout their lifecycle on site. Your responsibilities will include:
• Verify company and worker registration and legal status prior to site access: Ensure all Jones Engineering and subcontractors in our supply chain are properly registered as companies and employees and are compliant with client requirements and Norwegian legislation including tax and social security requirements prior to site access and during offboarding.
• Audit and monitor compliance with Norwegian employment legislation and applicable CBA’s: Minimise supply chain liability risks by working with internal teams and subcontractors to confirm that all companies and workers on site adhere to Norwegian labour laws and relevant CBA standards, including review of contracts, wages, benefits, allowances, and accommodation conditions.
• Identify, escalate, and remediate non-compliance: Conduct regular site inspections, identify risks or breaches, escalate issues through established channels, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented to mitigate legal and financial exposure.
• Support knowledge sharing and compliance awareness: Contribute to the development of practical guides and documentation to strengthen understanding and communication of compliance requirements across the subcontractor network.
• Lead and support external audits: Act as the single point of contact for external audits (clients, authorities, etc.), preparing documentation, coordinating responses and ensuring successful audit outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, HR, legal and procurement teams to embed compliance best practices across project delivery. This role will provide exposure to a wide range of industries including data centres, life sciences, construction, and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be supported in developing their expertise as responsibilities grow and evolve. Skills And Requirements To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and

qualifications:
• Relevant qualification in law, HR, compliance, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of applying compliance requirements regarding Norwegian employment law and subcontractor supply chain liability.
• Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA’s) and posted worker regulations is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a compliance, HR, legal or audit-related role (construction or engineering sector experience advantageous).
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Benefits
