Are you a university student in the final stages of your studies and passionate about bioanalytics? Join our Quantitative Bioanalytics Unit as a Phase1 Trainee and gain hands-on experience in developing cutting-edge bioanalytical methods for biologics.
Your key responsibilities
- Method Development: Design and implement robust LC-MS and/or ligand binding assay (LBA) methods for quantitative analysis of biotherapeutics.
- Sample Preparation: Develop and optimize biological sample pretreatment workflows for accurate quantification.
- Automation & Innovation: Utilize advanced tools such as pipetting robots to establish automated analytical processes.
- Hands-On Lab Work: Prepare biological samples and perform analyses using state-of-the-art instrumentation.

Our expectations
- A university student in the late phase of studies (e.g., pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry, or related field).
- Passion in bioanalytical method development and hands-on laboratory work.
- Basic understanding of biotherapeutics (antibodies) and analytical instruments/methods in LC-MS and/or LBA.
- Experience in laboratory work in your studies or in your earlier work positions.
- Motivation to learn and contribute in a dynamic research environment.
Good communication skills in English

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description
Orion's pharmaceutical innovations are created within its R&D organization. We employ around 400 top professionals in the field of drug discovery and development. Orion R&D and the Innovative Medicines business division are dedicated to making a transformation to become a global player in the pain and oncology therapy areas.
The Quantitative Bioanalytics & Biomarkers unit is part of the Integrated DMPK and Safety at Orion R&D. The unit is responsible for quantitative bioanalysis from early discovery to clinical phases, focusing on developing and validating bioanalytical methods to quantify drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers in biological fluids, tissues and in vitro samples and implementing methods in use. We work with small molecules (SME) as well with biologics supporting our oncology and pain therapeutics areas.
