We are now looking for an
Embedded Software Developer
for our agile edge computing development team in the Sandvik Digital Services unit to support the growing demand for remote monitoring and analytics services. The preferable location is Tampere, Finland.

Your role
You will work in our agile SW team together with software developers, data scientists, data engineers and remote monitoring specialists to define and implement various software solutions. Our services include cloud and edge computing technologies to provide predictive maintenance and operator competence development to mining customers. Your main focus will be on edge computing technology. The role is within the Global Digital Service team which improves and creates not only new tools but defines best practices and ways of working to deliver more value to customers through digitalization.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Develop, test and deploy modern edge computing applications on embedded Linux devices.
• Implement algorithms and deploy them to edge devices using Azure IoT Edge tools.
• Manage deployed IoT devices.
• Integrate services with other in-house Azure services.
• Work together with software users to define features and visualizations for monitoring software and for other digitalization software.

Your background
You have a suitable technical education background, e.g. Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering. You are seasoned developer and have advanced knowledge of computing technologies, modern SW engineering and CI/CD pipelines preferably using Azure DevOps.

Experience in Azure IoT Edge tools is highly desirable and earlier experience in data engineering or full stack development is considered as advantage.

You have the curiosity to explore new ideas and develop them into robust solutions in collaboration with internal and external customers. As the organization is a global player, you naturally need well-developed English skills.
