Cancer Center Director

Job Description

The Cancer Center Director is responsible for staffing, operations, planning and development, patient and provider communication at the clinics. Provides direction and support to the clinic staff.

Department: Cancer Center

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Required: IL RN and BSN

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $94,348.80

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Communications Department in the marketing and promotion of medical providers and their practices. Supports outreach efforts, patient education programs and community engagement related to the service line ., Collaborates with Communications Department in the marketing and promotion of medical providers and their practices. Supports outreach efforts, patient education programs and community engagement related to the service line ., Develops and manages the clinic's annual operating and capital budget. Monitors financial performance including revenue cycle management, charge capture and expense control., Ensures care coordination across the continuum form diagnosis through survivorship or end of life care, implementing programs to address social determinants of health, financial navigation and patient education. Serves as a patient advocate and addresses concerns with compassion and professionalism., Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accreditation. CIA additionally provides ongoing clinical advice to Patient Safety Committee, JCAHO oversight function and Regulatory Compliance Committee to assure division compliance in ways best meeting the changing needs of patients, providers and regulatory expectations., Focuses on establishing stability and reducing variance in the operations of all departmental functions. Promotes and utilizes Quality Improvement principles and methods to achieve continuously improving the departmental services and systems. Responds to appropriate requests and initiatives from Vice Presidents, other Directors and Managers, physicians and staff to improve services., Leader-Coach:

Collaborates with pharmacy, revenue cycle and finance to manage high-cost drug utilization and prior authorization workflows., Oversees clinic supervisors and managers, providing coaching and performance evaluations. Monitors clinic productivity, efficiency, access and capacity ., Partners with clinical quality teams to lead initiatives around chemotherapy safety, infection control and quality metrics such as time to treatment, hospitalization rates and symptom management., Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between oncologists, nurses, palliative care, social work, pharmacy and diagnostic imaging to ensure timely coordination of lab, imaging, chemotherapy, radiation and treatment regimens., Provides leadership for the Oncology service line including medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology and outpatient infusion services., Provides oversight in clinic related construction projects., Provides strategic leadership through development and implementation of service line goals, growth initiatives and performance improvement strategies.
