We're building a mission-critical payments platform that enables businesses to integrate via rest apis and access real-time money movement and treasury services. to guarantee reliability and quality, we're forming a dedicated QA team.
As a senior QA testing engineer, you'll design and execute manual api tests, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and ensure every release meets the highest standards of performance, security, and functionality. You'll work with testing tools, scripting, databases, and observability platforms to validate new features and releases.
Experience in the payments industry is a strong plus, helping you anticipate edge cases and handle the complexities unique to financial systems.
What would you be doing:
- Design and execute manual test cases for REST APIs (functional, regression, integration) to ensure reliable releases.
- Validate API endpoints, payloads, and workflows with tools like karate, postman, or similar, crossing multiple data sources from distributed systems to verify end to end functionality of the platform features..
- Develop lightweight scripts for test execution, data validation, and reporting.
- Analyze logs, traces, and metrics in our observability tool to confirm system behavior and troubleshoot issues.
- Partner with product managers/directors and engineers to define acceptance criteria and testing strategies.
- Document and report bugs with clear reproduction steps, collaborating with developers on timely fixes.
- Drive continuous improvement of qa processes, standards, and best practices.
- Mentor junior qa engineers and help embed a culture of quality across teams.
What do you need:
- 5+ years of QA testing experience, with strong focus on rest api testing.
- Hands-on experience with karate framework and api testing tools.
- Solid SQL, shell scripting and/or python skills for test execution and data validation.
- Experience analyzing logs and metrics in observability platforms.
- Strong knowledge of http, json, authentication flows (oauth/jwt), and error handling.
- Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of sdlc and qa methodologies in agile environments.
Nice to have:
- Background in payments, fintech, or banking (transaction workflows, reconciliation, compliance).
- Familiarity with microservices, cloud-native environments (aws/kubernetes), and ci/cd pipelines.
