Phase1, QC Trainee

About your role

We are looking for university students or university of applied sciences students to join our team in Oulu as Phase1 QC Trainee for summer months between May - September). As a QC Trainee, you will participate in daily activities and in analytical work in Oulun QC laboratory. The position is an on-site, temporary trainee position located in Oulu.

Your key responsibilities

Depending on your competence and interests, you will be responsible for either

• Performing analyses in QC laboratory allowing you to gain hands-on experience with specific techniques and GMP-compliant laboratory procedures. You will possibly also participate in testing and validation of analytical methods.

• Inspecting analyses. This task allows you to gain insight to compliance with specifications and reporting of results. You will also participate in analytical problem solving together with our chemist team and communicate instructions to laboratory technicians.

Our expectations

We are seeking student wit major in chemistry or related field preferably with already a Bachelor of Sciences degree and some experience in performing chemical analyses. Ideal candidates are independent, organized, collaborative with good people skills and have strong Finnish and English language skills. Experience with ICP or different titrimetric analyses is an advantage.

Our Phase1 trainees will be paid a monthly salary of €2370–2625, depending on the number of completed study credits. In addition, the Phase1 trainees are eligible to various employee benefits offered by the company.

Unit description

Fermion Oy is a subsidiary of Orion and develops and produces all active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for Orion's in-house developed innovative medicines and for some of Orion's branded, generic and animal health products. Fermion also develops and produces a series of generic APIs for various indications and is active as CDMO, contract development and manufacturing organization, to serve other pharmaceutical companies. The company has produced APIs in Hanko, Finland since 1973, and the plant currently has personnel of 180. The company's Oulu plant commenced operations back in 1964 and currently employs more than 100 professionals. Fermion's head office is in Espoo where R&D, S&M and part of QM personnel are located. Altogether approximately 400 professionals work for Fermion.
