WHAT YOU WILL DO

In the Yousician Internship, you will be working in our Data & User Insights team to take part in building a profound understanding of the people who use our products. What makes them tick? What do they struggle with? How do they use our products?

As our new UX Research Intern, you will have the chance to learn and grow skills in the UX Research / User Insights field and take a step in your integration into professional life.

You will:

• Support our User Insights Lead, Product Designers, and Product Managers in conducting qualitative and quantitative research activities, such as usability studies, interviews, surveys, and benchmarking,
• Take part in everyday research activities such as planning research, scheduling and running user testing sessions or interviews, summarizing findings, and documenting the work,
• Work in a talented team and build a strong cross-functional network at Yousician.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

• The role is a hybrid model with 2 office days in Helsinki.
• This is a paid internship. The program consists of 3 months of full-time work with the possibility of extending for another 3 months. The start date is flexible, but we hope that you could start in January. If your time only allows for part-time work (30 hours a week) we can consider that.
• Learning opportunities: You will work side by side with the User Insights Lead, Product Designers, and other people conducting user research. This will give you the opportunity to learn how user insights are discovered and how they're put into practice to ensure our users stay engaged and that playing music becomes a life-long habit for them.
• Networking opportunities: Interns at Yousician will have the opportunity to network with professionals and make valuable connections in the fields of user insights, design, music, and technology.
• Gain understanding of the tech field: Yousician is a music tech company that is constantly developing new products and features. You will have the opportunity to learn how we build digital products in cross-functional teams.

WHO YOU ARE

• A Master's student or a recent graduate in social sciences, psychology, UX design, education, usability engineering, HCI, cognitive science, music education or technology, or a related field.
• Genuine curiosity to understand how people think, behave, feel, and get motivated.
• Basic knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and possibly some experience in applying them in practice (e.g., in course projects or thesis)
• Some understanding of music, e.g. from playing an instrument as a hobby to more serious music engagements. Please mention in your cover letter
• Coordination and planning skills.
• Great communication and listening skills, ability to collaborate.
• Ability to work in English (Finnish skills not required).
• Experience using AI tools, like ChatGPT, in an academic or professional setting is a bonus.
