Senior Backend Engineer

• Design and implement automation solutions that improve developer productivity and system reliability
• Build and maintain shared platform services, libraries, and infrastructure components
• Develop integration patterns and tooling for connecting internal systems and third-party services
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to provide architectural guidance and technical consultation
• Implement and maintain contract testing frameworks to minimize integration errors across services
• Work with authentication and identity systems (SSO, SAML, OAuth) across multiple platforms
• Contribute to event-driven architectures using message buses and async patterns
• Create technical documentation, architectural decision records, and integration guides
• Participate in code reviews and help establish engineering standards and best practices

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a senior or platform-focused role
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages (Ruby, Python(preferred), others accepted: , and Go).
• Good level of experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS)
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation
• Familiarity with message queues and event-driven patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams

• Experience with contract testing tools (Pact, Open, or similar)
• Background in healthcare technology or familiarity with HIPAA/HiTrust compliance
• Experience with identity federation (SAML, Azure AD/Entra ID, AWS Cognito)
• Exposure to WebSocket implementations and real-time data systems
• Experience creating internal developer tools, SDKs, or shared libraries
• SQL, GraphQL
