Job Description

Helsinki Vedanta Association ry is seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Eastern philosophy, scripture and Sanskrit expert. This position requires an in-depth understanding of Eastern philosophy, particularly core texts and scriptures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent teaching and communication skills, as well as proficiency in multiple languages, including Sanskrit, Hindi, and Indian dialects such as Tamil.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct group sessions for beginner-intermediate level students on Eastern philosophy and Sanskrit texts.
  • Develop and teach Sanskrit classes for beginner-intermediate level students.
  • Provide individualized instruction and guidance to students exploring Eastern philosophy texts for research purposes or advanced studies.
  • Offer individualized instruction and guidance in Sanskrit and Hindi for advanced students.
  • Prepare materials for workshops related to Eastern philosophy.
  • Maintain information on the organization's website and forums.
  • Assist with interdisciplinary events combining science and Eastern philosophy.
Auxiliary Duties
  • Plan events, contact speakers, and contribute to program design.
  • Participate in event management and organization.
  • Lead meditation sessions.
  • Contribute to the running of art camps.
  • Support administrative tasks.
