Environmental Geologist

At Geological Survey of Finland, we conduct objective research to find solutions to challenges posed by climate change and the energy transition. Our 400 experts are specialists in various fields, including mineral economy, green energy, water management, the environment, and digital solutions.

We aim to build a sustainable and carbon-neutral future through collaboration with our Finnish and global partners. We are seeking a Research Professor or Associate Research Professor to join our Environmental Solutions unit, specialising in environmental geology.

Your primary task will be to innovate, coordinate, and lead geological research that supports environmental sustainability. This includes identifying and managing geological and geochemical risks related to bedrock, soil, and water sediments. You will also produce solutions for responsible infrastructure construction and land use planning, taking into consideration the circular economy and material-effective use of natural resources.
