Software Craftsman

The digital landscape is constantly evolving, and companies need talented professionals to drive innovation. At Ritchie Bros, we're committed to transforming and modernizing our website and technical architecture. As a result, we're seeking skilled Frontend Developers to join our team.

You'll be part of a dynamic team in our Helsinki-based engineering office, collaborating with approximately 30 professionals. This role involves working closely with software engineers, a QA engineer, and an Engineering Manager to focus on one of the Rbauction domains.

Your primary responsibilities include participating in technical execution, implementing the web experience, and maintaining best development practices. You'll also champion code and architectural quality and ensure safe changes to production when needed. Strong teamwork acumen, willingness to improve skills and processes, and a drive to foster Ritchie Bros' exceptional company culture are essential qualities for success in this role.

We're looking for individuals with at least a couple of years of professional experience in software development and solid frontend skills in React. Skills in Next.js are considered a significant asset. Experience with various technologies and frameworks, including CircleCI, Helm, Kubernetes (EKS), CodeClimate, Snyk, GitHub, Spotbugs, Vault, Java, Java Spring Boot, Jacoco, Next.js, React, Nx, Jest, AWS, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB, is beneficial but not required.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Relevant degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in software development, focusing on frontend.
• Solid technical skills in React.
• Supportive approach to teamwork, strong communication and problem-solving skills combined with an ability to work in a multicultural team.
• Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English.

Additional assets include:

• Experience with Next.js.
• Backend skills with Java and/or Spring Boot technologies.
