Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to clients across Europe.

The company delivers services from design through to construction, encompassing civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical services, as well as commissioning.

Position: Electrical Engineer

This role involves working with a team of electrical sub-contractors to assist with design, development, and electrical installation within large electrical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the Winthrop Integrated Management System.
  • Manage and review drawings as requested by stakeholders.
  • Guide sub-contracted staff on technical aspects of projects.
  • Prioritise work for the technical team and allocate tasks effectively.
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with site and project requirements, including health and safety obligations.
  • Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage document control to maintain up-to-date logs.
  • Create handover packs and test packs for systems.
Compliance and Governance

The Electrical Engineer will ensure compliance and adherence to regulatory matters, including:

  • Health & Safety issues on site, ensuring sub-contractors work safely.
  • Review ways of working and implement changes to improve safety where possible.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping among sub-contractors.
  • Complete weekly 'don't walk by' cards.
Requirements
  • Relevant Electrical Qualification essential (e.g., Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering).
  • HNC/HND qualifications are preferred.
  • 5+ years of previous experience in a similar role within a mechanical and electrical contracting environment.
  • Data Centre experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word & Excel required.
