Electrical Supervisor/Commissioning Engineer, OPEN APPLICATION

We're looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor/Commissioning Engineer to join our team.

Your main responsibility will be to plan and supervise electrical installation and commissioning activities at project sites worldwide. This role involves extensive travel, approximately 250 days per year.

  • Guide electrical subcontractors at the site.
  • Ensure planned works are executed according to the Last Planner System.
  • Verify that electrical as-built drawings are completed and communicated effectively.
  • Safeguard compliance with HSSE policies and minimize risks in electrical installations and tests.
  • Collaborate with Civil and Mechanical disciplines on construction and installation works.
  • Inspect received materials and goods at the site.
  • Participate in electrical weekly site meetings.
  • Perform quality control and installation inspections at the site.
  • Provide guidance to subcontractors on electrical design and installation instructions.
  • Assist subcontractors in planning, organizing, and executing electrical works.
  • Advise and support clients in planning, organizing, and executing tests.
  • Ensure safe inspections and test procedures are followed.
  • Instruct subcontractors to use accepted test and inspection methods and proper test equipment.
  • Perform testing of installed equipment and document test results.
  • Maintain a punch list.
  • Ensure all required documents are submitted and signed by the client for taking over of the plant.
  • Perform start-up and tests of equipment within the scope of the contract.
  • Follow the commissioning plan.
  • Adhere to commissioning and performance test procedures.
  • Ensure all test results are documented according to Wärtsilä instructions.
  • Safeguard compliance with EHS policies and minimize risks during commissioning.
  • Follow safe commissioning practices.
  • Resolve and record technical problems during commissioning.
  • Participate in site commissioning meetings.
  • Ensure safe and calibrated test equipment is used.
  • Provide guidance to operation personnel on plant design and functionalities.
  • Assist clients with commissioning procedures and testing.
  • Ensure safe and reliable function of the plant and equipment.
  • Verify that as-built drawings are completed and communicated.
  • Maintain a punch list.
  • Ensure all required documents are submitted and signed by the client for taking over of the plant.

What We're Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • B.Sc or M.Sc in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards
  • Understanding of utility generation construction, and commissioning practices. Experience in similar tasks preferred.
  • Good communication and team-building skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to adjust to a wide range of conditions and cultural environments
  • Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Other languages seen as an advantage
