About the Project Team

We are a multidisciplinary team of researchers at the University of Helsinki's Department of Physics. Our team is committed to advancing knowledge in the field of ion beam physics and its applications. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team and contribute to our research goals.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within the project 'Metal atoms on functional nanoplatforms' funded by the Research Council of Finland, based at the Accelerator Laboratory, Helsinki. Key responsibilities include designing, developing and testing ultra-high-vacuum instrumentation for ion implantation at ultra-low energies.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you should have a PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a comparable field. A strong background in vacuum instrumentation, ion accelerator technology and ion optics software (such as SIMION) is essential. Good oral and written English skills, as well as a problem-solving mindset and good communication and interpersonal skills, are also required.
